Three United International locations peacekeepers were on Sunday severely injured in a rocket assault on a protection force ugly in the north of the battle-ridden Sahel verbalize, UN and local officials talked about.

Mali has been battling a brutal jihadist insurgency since 2012, when Islamist opponents first emerged all by a riot by ethnic Tuareg separatists in the north.

France intervened to crush the riot, nonetheless the jihadists scattered and regrouped, taking their marketing campaign into central Mali in 2015 and then into neighbouring Niger and Burkina Faso.
