The Financial and Monetary Crimes Price (EFCC) has arrested 34 suspected web fraudsters popularly diagnosed as Yahoo boys in Ibadan and Lagos, spokesman Wilson Uwujaren said on Thursday Ibadan, the Oyo Narrate capital.
The Ibadan Zonal Build of enterprise of the Price arrested 24 of the suspects, while the closing 10 had been apprehended by the Lagos office.
Uwujaren said the suspects had been caught correct by separate operations in the 2 states.
Uwujaren said that 24 suspects, most of whom claimed to be undergraduates, had been apprehended yesterday at their hideout in the Apete honest of Ibadan.
He said the early morning raid followed actionable intelligence on their alleged involvement in web-linked crimes.
Uwujaren said the commission recovered precious items including four exotic vehicles, cell phones, laptops, SIM playing cards and several other incriminating documents.
He said the suspects had been concerned with romance and jobs scams, as well to identification theft and spend of malicious instruments to compromise company email accounts.
Uwujaren said that among the items recovered from the suspects in Lagos had been cell phones and computer computers.
He said the suspects volunteered statements to the commission and would be charged to court as soon as investigations had been concluded.
