The Sharks have confidence honoured their legendary venerable coach Ian McIntosh by naming the first entry gate to Kings Park stadium in his honour.
“On the present time we had the privilege of honouring the legendary Ian McIntosh who has given so grand to Sharks rugby as we named the entry gate to our stadium in his honour,” the Sharks posted on Wednesday.
McIntosh became the Sharks head coach from the unhurried 1980s except the unhurried 1990s. He’s most effectively-known for masterminding Natal’s first ever Currie Cup title in 1990 after they horrified Northern Transvaal (Bulls) 18-12 within the last in Pretoria.
“It has been 30 years since Natal’s inaugural Currie Cup capture. On the present time we salute Mr Ian McIntosh by naming our most valuable entry gate to the stadium in his honour. That is factual recognition for a coach, who has made a precious contribution to Sharks and South African rugby,” the Sharks added.
Natal also received the Currie Cup in 1992 and this paved the style for McIntosh to develop into Springbok head coach in 1993. He became sacked after a 2-0 series loss in Recent Zealand in 1994.
He then returned to educate the Sharks and received two more Currie Cup titles in 1995 and 1996.
McIntosh grew up in Bulawayo in Zimbabwe and first made his mark as coach of their nationwide aspect.
