A teen drowned at Kalk Bay Harbour in Cape City on Wednesday.

The boy, 18, believed to be from Zimbabwe, became swimming with a family member and mates at the time of the incident.

The Nationwide Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) became alerted to the incident at 15: 13 on Wednesday, NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon acknowledged.

“Whereas responding to the scene it became confirmed from eyewitnesses that a male teenager became missing below water. An NSRI Simon’s City rescue swimmer took location to be at the harbour at the time and he without extend kitted up into his wetsuit and approached the scene at the same time that a CMR paramedic and NSRI Simon’s City location commander arrived on the scene,” Lambinon acknowledged.

The swimmers searched the state where the teenager had final been viewed sooner than he disappeared below water. The teenager became recovered and dropped at shore, where evolved lifestyles increase CPR commenced.
